This Privacy Policy explains how the Android version of the USCG Incident Management Handbook (IMH) application (“the App”) handles information. The App is a reference tool that provides the U.S. Coast Guard Incident Management Handbook, ICS forms, job aides, and related field tools. The App is developed and published by UiPath on behalf of the U.S. Coast Guard.

An iOS version of this App is published separately and is covered by its own privacy policy.

Summary

The App does not collect, transmit, or share any personal data. It is a fully offline application. It requests no Android permissions, makes no network connections, and contains no analytics, advertising, or tracking of any kind. Everything you create in the App stays on your device.

Information the App does NOT collect

The App does not collect, request, transmit, or have access to:

• Personal or contact information (name, email, address, phone number)
• Account credentials or user accounts (the App has no login or sign-up)
• Location data
• Device identifiers, advertising IDs, or fingerprints
• Usage analytics, telemetry, crash logs, or diagnostics
• Photos, contacts, microphone, or camera data

The App requests no runtime or install-time permissions and includes no internet permission, so it cannot send any information off your device.

Information stored locally on your device

To make the App useful, some content you create is saved locally on your device only. This information is never transmitted to the developer, the U.S. Coast Guard, or any third party. It includes:

• Bookmarks and notes you add while reading the handbook.
• Meeting schedules you create in the meeting scheduler (titles, times, attendee role codes, agendas, and notes).
• ICS form field values you type into forms. These are held only in memory while a form is open and are cleared when you close the form.
• Signatures you draw for ICS forms, used only to stamp the form you are working on.

This data is stored in the App’s private storage and is accessible only to the App. You can remove it at any time by deleting the relevant items in the App, clearing the App’s storage in Android Settings, or uninstalling the App.

Sharing, printing, and calendar export (user-initiated)

The App lets you share or print a completed ICS form and add a scheduled meeting to your calendar. These actions happen only when you initiate them, and they use Android’s standard system features:

• Sharing / email / printing: When you choose to share or print a form, the App generates the filled PDF in a temporary cache and hands it to the Android share or print system (via a secure FileProvider). You choose the destination (e.g., an email or messaging app, or a printer). The App does not control or receive a copy of what you send.
• Calendar export: When you add a meeting to your calendar, the App opens Android’s “add event” screen pre-filled with the meeting details. The App requests no calendar permission; the event is saved only if you confirm it, and only to the calendar you choose.

Any information handled by the apps or services you send content to (your email provider, calendar, printer, etc.) is governed by their privacy policies, not this one.

Device backup

The App allows Android’s standard backup feature. If you have enabled Android Auto Backup on your device, the locally stored data described above (such as bookmarks, notes, and meeting schedules) may be included in the backup that Android creates to your own Google account. This backup is controlled by you and by Google under Google’s Privacy Policy; the App developer does not receive or have access to it. You can disable backup in your device’s system settings.

Children’s privacy

The App is a professional reference tool and is not directed to children under 13. It does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children.

Third-party services and advertising

The App contains no advertising, no third-party analytics, and no third-party SDKs that collect data. The “Ask” feature answers questions using a built-in, deterministic responder and on-device search only — there is no AI service, no cloud processing, and no network call. The bundled reference materials (the handbook, ICS forms, and job aides) are U.S. Coast Guard / FEMA documents included for offline use.

Data security

Because the App stores data only in its own private, sandboxed storage on your device and never transmits it, your information is protected by your device’s own security (such as your screen lock and device encryption). No data is held on any server operated by the developer or the U.S. Coast Guard for this App.

Your choices

• Delete in-app data: Remove individual bookmarks, notes, or meetings within the App.
• Clear all App data: Use Android Settings → Apps → USCG Incident Management Handbook → Storage → Clear storage.
• Uninstall: Removing the App deletes all data it stored on your device.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted at this URL with an updated “Last updated” date. Material changes will be reflected before they take effect.
